Lenten Services
Join us for our special Lenten Services. Invite a friend or reconnect with your forever family and St. Andrew. We have some very special services planned, along with fellowship. This is the time to reflect, renew, and recommit. Below You will find some opportunities to participate in our Lenten season.
Ash Wednesday

Our Ash Wednesday Services will take place on March 5, at noon and 6 pm. We will come together as a family of faith to reflect on the profound spiritual significance of this sacred day. This is a wonderful opportunity for introspection and renewal within the loving embrace of our St. Andrew Lutheran Church community. Following the noon service and before the 6pm service at 5pm in the Fellowship Hall, we will share a light meal, fostering a spirit of connection and fellowship, transforming this occasion into a cherished event rather than a mere obligation.

Maundy Thursday

Service begins at 6:00 p.m.
Christ's "mandate" is commemorated on Maundy Thursday---"maundy" being a shortened form of mandatum (Latin), which means "command." It was on the Thursday of Christ's final week before being crucified and resurrected that He said this commandment to His disciples. Jesus and his disciples had just shared what was known as the Last Supper and he was washing their feet when he stated:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another" (John 13:34).

Good Friday

Service Times: 12 p.m. & 6 p.m.

For Christians, Good Friday is an important day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation. Paul considered it “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day, following what God had promised in the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3).

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Easter is a yearly Christian celebration honoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also known as Easter Sunday, the day dedicated to commemorating this festival.
